Meet Our Team

Our physicians are recognized throughout the state as dedicated, experienced and
compassionate professionals in the treatment of mental health and substance use disorders.

Robert Jarvis, MD

Dr. Jarvis
Medical Director of Adult Psychiatry

As an experienced board-certified psychiatrist, Dr. Jarvis can help adults with:

  • Mood disorders, including major depression and bipolar disorder, with an emphasis on management of treatment-resistant and treatment-refractory depression.
  • Dual diagnosis, a mood disorder combined with substance use disorder
  • Medication management
  • Electroconvulsive Therapy

Dr. Jarvis received his medical degree and completed his psychiatry residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. During his residency at UAMS, Dr. Jarvis served as the chief resident. He earned his BA in psychology and music from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. He is board certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He joined The BridgeWay in 2002 and was promoted to Medical Director in January 2019.

Dr. Alexander
Comprehensive Psychiatry, Adults

As an experienced psychiatrist, Dr. Alexander can help adults with:

  • Mood disorders
  • Thought disorders
  • Geriatric psychiatry
  • Dual diagnosis, a mood disorder combined with substance use disorder
  • Medication management

Dr. Alexander received her medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 2003 where she also completed her psychiatry residency in 2008. She is also an anesthesiologist. She joined The BridgeWay in 2021.

Jeffrey Palmer, MD

As an experienced psychiatrist, Dr. Palmer can help children and adolescents with:

  • Mood disorders, including major depression and bipolar disorder
  • Dual diagnosis, a mood disorder combined with substance use disorder
  • Medication management

Dr. Palmer completed his undergraduate education at St. Louis University with a degree in psychology and earned his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, where he also completed his Psychiatry residency and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship. He joined The BridgeWay in 2005 and was promoted to Medical Director of Children and Adolescent Psychiatry in 2007.
